I have a vintage MK lll Arp Odyssey for sale.
She's in near mint condition & is in the middle of a service right now.

I've used this synth with an MXR flanger & the 'Billy Currie' sound is there, no doubt about it. In order to get 'THE' sound you'll either have to invest in a decent quality FX unit or purchase a S/H Electro Harmonix Electric Mistress or a MXR (T-117) flanger.
Either can be bought from ebay for around 50-70 or so

I'm selling it, as I need to upgrade some of my kit & to gig this unit would be a real shame becuase of it's outstanding condition as it has been lovingly cared for. I am the second owner from new. I bought the synth from a guy in Holland nearly four years ago & it comes with a Philip Rees MIDI to CV convertion interface & a copy of the original manual, patch sheets, articles etc on CD.

Please guys, only serious bidders need apply thanks wink

Two questions don. Shes defiantly the MK III, with black face with orange controls? And what would you consider a serious starting bid?
If all goes well, i'll see you on the PM's at Monument. wink

Yes Ken she is the one with the black & orange decals & the PPC (Proportional pitch control) pads. Just think of Numan 'On Broadway'

I paid around 750 for it, I'm not looking to make a packet on it like some folks do with retro-vintage synths these days, but I would like to get the going rate for it wink

I think the question was, "what's the starting bid" and I think he was saying he wants at least the 750 back he originally paid for it?! This is going to get really confusing, LOL.... couldn't you just tell everybody the asking price.... "this is my ARP Odyssey and I want a grand for it"? or 1200 or whatever?

If this was a house (in Scotland, I'll add) it would have an OFFERS OVER price of 950 and you'd be expecting to pay around 20% on top of that.... let me know if you need an estate agent, sorry I mean Synth agent..... What is the "going rate" for a synth like this anyway?

Ken, There's no way I'll be putting it up on ebay, I know what it's worth.
Put your money where your mouth is then sunna, I ain't giving it away ye know..! banghead lmao

When I asked for serious offers, there was no intention of having an auction type sale up here on EV, I'm sorry if I gave you or anyone else that impression OK smile

I had my keyboard-tech guy on the phone today saying that it's the best Ody he's seen in a very long time. It's in A1 condition, sonically & cosmetically wink

If anyone would like to buy it, then either email myself at ultravoxtribute@hotmail.co.uk or PM me in the Monument forum
