There's soon to be released a Special Edition of Still Movement. The cover is redesigned and very green, and it's autographed by Billy. That much I learned from www.billycurrie.com. An e-mail from young Billy hisself revealed that availability dates are soon to be posted and - sad to say - he has no plans as yet for any live performances, which is a shame. I'm still trying to find a way of getting Still Movement without using the net, convinced as I am that my computer is harbouring some deep-abiding nasty thta wikll probably have my credit card cloned all the way from here to the Yellow Sea. I tried offering Billy hard cash and the rpomise of drinks if I could pop to his studio and pick one up, but nothing doing!

I'm starting to feel a little gladder that my utterly negligent, cruel, heartless relatives neglected to get it for me at Christmas, as I can now get an autographed copy without feeling guilty. Ha! Mind you, as I said (although reading it back, it looks like I had the "scrambler" function on - either that or boxing gloves) I'm reluctant to perform financial transactions web-wise just now as a few quirks are convincing me that some mafioski is just waiting to key-log his way to my credit card, the devious wee bugger. Did anyone else see a report in the paper that said that in a couple of years time virus technology will be so advanced that today's average computer using decent defences would still be overwhelmed within a very short space of time and reduced to some sort of binary cabbage. Frightening.

But I agree: very green, very desirable owing to its too-long absence from my collection, and very soon!

The answer to beating these back door programs seems to be running an old OS - I run 98SE and have no probs whatsoever. ZoneAlarm and AVG AV keeps me safe (and warm and cosy at night, but that's another story...). All these XP security nightmares don't affect me at all... smile

I would agree.

Moreover, the black and green colours contrast very well and reminds me somehow of the The Three Into One album cover. A very young Billy Currie once a student under Professor Foxx is now a maestro in his own right. laugh

There's a brilliant black and white photo in Billy's website of him in Conny's studio listening attentively to what Foxx had to say. It also witnesses one of the first photos of the Quiet Man (John's new persona at the time and to this date!) lurve

Chris C:

"Meooowwwww"

"Plate of milk for table 5!"

Even as a joke: might it not be ill advised to suggest Billy was anyone's protege? bemused

Much though I respect JFs output - infact I'm a pretty huge fan & admirer - at no time, in anything that I've ever read or heard of the original 'Vox lineup, is there anything to suggest or substantiate any kind of Svengali-like leadership on John's part.

Billy is a classically trained musician and the commercial success of the second version of the band - as well as the musical strength of his solo output - is testament enough to Billy's talent.

Equally John's innovative music speaks for itself.

Even as I'm writing this I can here the little bell ringing in my head indicating: " Here be Chris C's ironic comments!" but equally.......

wink

Cromlech,

John was ahead of his time....he was a New Kind of Man.

I found this perfect picture in Billy's website and speaks for itself. laugh

It's one of the first photos of John's new persona The Quiet Man:

Looking at this photograph, is it my imagination or is John still on "Charge" via the socket top left of the picture?

Quietman

Thanks for coming to my rescue here! wink

That was really my objective in this topic.

I myself got the wires crossed and called Billy a student of Professor Foxx. This is not true! banghead

Damn! Billy will never forgive me for saying this! lurve

You truly were a Professor in Sound.

Vielen Danke fur immer und immer!

I think this is a smart move. Hasn't done Onetwo any harm and it's not as if either will really trouble the charts as their music is for a completely different audience.
