Hi Phil. Still waiting myself. I ordered the Humania album with a number of other items from Amazon. The delay to the release of the Humania album has delayed the sending of my other items. They tend to send everything in one go when all items are ready to post. However I got an e-mail on Saturday from Amazon saying that the others items were being sent rather than waiting any longer for the Humania album. So begs the question when will the Humania album actually be available?

This from Billy's website:

"Hi People,
Sorry about the delay with the Humania Album.
Voiceprint say they have been having a bit of jip with the pressing plant.
Yer Raghht!
The April 10th date should be correct."

In a two horse race which will come first, Humania or TCM? Probably be a dead heat and they'll both arrive the same day ha

Well, it's arrived and I've played it. Overall, I think it's quite good but I'm not overly taken with the lead singers voice. The "cover" of Lament, for example, is dire. Midge may have been a lot of things but he could certainly sing!

Thanks Joby for the news. wink

Mind you their version of Can't Stay Long succeeds. If it's the same version as that on Pieces of the Puzzle.

Can't wait...it should be now a question of hours!

Cheers!

I recieved an e-mail today from Amazon stating that there is a further delay to the release of the Humania album.

Seems somewhat strange if yours has arrived Joby !

It is cheaper to buy Billys stuff direct from Voiceprint than Amazon. http://www.voiceprint.co.uk/web/Home/

I just received anote from Play.com saying my copy of Humania has just been posted so I'll guess it'll be at my house on Saturday.

Looks like Humania is going to be with me before TCM

At last it arrived. There it was with the Only After Dark CD. Arrived late last night, didn't play them (there's the weekend of course!) but did read the liner notes.

On Sinews of the Soul the liner notes are by Billy himself and believe it or not he has finally gone public by briefly giving out his version of the Ultravox split and of course the progression to Humania etc. Midge's version of the split can be found on his autobiography. We can now relax we now have both versions.

As we all know this happens frequently in the music business. Midge and Billy may have gone through this phase but I'm sure they'll get back together. They did for Live Aid. Live 8 happened at the time of the Royalties wrangle but I'm sure they'll play again for some other event. They were indeed a successful unit. Friends for forever! laugh

It'll also be interesting to see Foxx and Currie get together but at the moment all ex Ultravox members seem to avoid each other. They certainly have more to offer.

Well Simon and Currie had certainly more to offer in 1988!

Excellent! You'll find that Undertow is the star track. Very Ultravox. Can't Stay Long and Lament aside the music goes more into the Rock field. I had some question marks on first playing these but by the time I played these second time round I fell in love with them...Suffering Cease, The Key, Perfect World etc

The rhythm section is very impressive. Robin and Billy form an excellent unit too. Marcus does his best and has his own style. I guess it's difficult to get used to another singer who's not Midge or John. Anyhow the music's great!

Enjoy!

Got my copy of Sinews yesterday. Listened to it twice so far. Some very good songs. Marcus certainly isn't Midge but, as previously stated, he has his own style.I think some of the tracks aren't as focussed as they would have been with Ultravox, tending to meander a little. Still a worthwhile addition to my collection. Andy
