During a spell of boredom online I was looking through old grey whistle test clips on youtube and stumbled upon this performance from The Skids playing An Incident In Algiers. Is that Billy I see playing the strings? Pretty sure its him, never seen this clip before myself. Anyone know what year this was as it doesnt say on the clip? A young Stuart Adamson playing a little "keyboards" too.

Yes, it is indeed Billy in that clip. Not sure what year it was, though. smile

I believe Billy is playing the strings on this track by The Armoury Show - Love In Anger (The Armoury Show had two ex-Skids members).

I recall the radio announcer stating this at the time - The Armoury Show also shows up on the Billy Currie wikipedia entry, so reckon it must be..

I think An Incident In Algiers is on Strength Through Joy, the free album given away with The Absolute Game. I dare say Bill was introduced to The Skids by Rusty Egan as Rusty played with The Skids a bit. I thought The Skids were great!

Emulator,I also like some of the skids tracks, this isn't one of my faves though. You could definately hear the guitar style on some tracks that Stuart had more success with Big Country afterwards.
