Yes. It's also her Simple Minds photo album, filled with some corking backstage shots from the early 80's. She sent it to me a few months ago and I scanned the images to disc. I think the disc was for Brian McGee. You shoulda seen Jim Kerr's Xmas sweater biglaugh And wee Charlie, looked like he'd arrived 'fresh from the creche' eek biglaugh Degsy wasn't there. Musta been showing someone his collection of Typhoo Tea cards in the broom cupboard wink eek

And Shirl was a fine looking damsel back in '82.
Cue Shirl... wink

Bumping up the Degsy Forbes thread with 2 examples of his 'I Travel' bassline. The first example is by a fan, and the second one from the man himself...

There is a photo of Derek in there, though admittedly it's not a good one of him, and you may not have recognised him from the pic. Funnily enough I was at a neighbour's yesterday who knew some of the crew (He works for Chris Rea, and has worked with some of the folk who used to work for the Minds.) Thanks for the compliment by the way.. not sure whether I would have described myself as a fine looking damsel, but I'll bottle that one.. Who knows what I'll look like by this time next week, especially after tackling Snowdon this weekend!! I'll bring the photos up to Greenock for those who haven't seen them yet.. some do come with a Government Health Warning!!

If memory serves I think I remember reading a feature on The Minds in Smash Hits at the time of Sparkle In The Rain which said that Derek's fingers were bleeding after recording The Kick Inside Of Me...

...not that I want to inflict pain but that's one I'd like to hear smile

New Gold Dream, with a difference...

This footage was captured in the Seb Coe Suite at the Jury's Inn, Rotherham last year. It was an after party to remember. The quality of the clip isn't too good but here it is anyway...
