...and it just ripped a new hole in me.

I've often found this to be true with music I like; Let it become part of you for a good while after release, then avoid it for a good few weeks at least, then, get yourself into your comfort zone (in my case, a few drams of Canadian Club smile ), and cue-up a playlist of those songs that really hit the spot; again, for me; Lie, Rise, Change, Brilliant, Live... and soak it up. I can't wait for the lads to tour the UK again.

I've done exactly the same. I anticipated the album badly, and I suddenly realised that I needed time off in order to let it grow on me. I was never dissapointed on any of the tracks, but I'm unabale to play it all day long. It will, however, end up that way once time has groomed the material and my feelings towards new music are adjusted.

Does it make any sense?

I always do the same thing when it's an album i've been really looking forward to. I play it to death for about a month, then have a break from it for a few weeks then go back to it to see if it's as good as i first thought. With Brilliant, it worked a treat as if anything i liked it even more. If i'm on the bus with the ipod, then i just select a few favourite tracks from it but when i'm home, i always play it from start to finish. I think it sounds at it's best as one complete work, just as Rage In Eden does. Roll on the tour, i can't wait to hear it live!!
