Quick poll...

We were thinking of dropping the Covers Competition when redesigning and streamlining the site, as the level of entries is dropping quite substantially (with one month to go we have just 20 entries so far this year, compared with 81 for the last comp).

Do YOU want the Covers Comp to continue? Have you already or will you be submitting entries this year?

Cerise, the Covers Competition must continue. We've got a July 2012 end date for this latest cycle (spanning over two years now), and after that, I would like to help drum up interest in the competition for the next time around. It's nothing more than getting the word out far and wide. And now that you have a FANTASTIC new landing place for everyone, it shouldn't be too hard. Let's do it! OK?

I like the covers and it has been great fun listening to them. Competition or not I think it is great people have been sharing what they've made.

Well, only you couldn't be entered into the covers comp as it has to be an Ultravox or related artist covered. However, I'd be happy to record some vocals for you to lay over the track anyway if it helps you finish it off.
P.S... Where are you from? Obviously north of the border... You sing with a distinctive Scottish accent.

Helen.. Would be great if you'd like to collaborate on the Yazoo tune.... Yes on the Scottish origin question. I'm in Edinburgh - guess it helps with Ultravox covers.
I'm trying to learn to sing at the moment - more because there are few folks with the same Ultravox/ 80's/ New Wave centric interests around me.... It's certainly a journey....

Current comp ends in July? I must have missed that....

It's the final one, that should have finished whilst the site was down. I postponed the end date to July, so any last entries can be sent in and everyone can listen to the tracks - I'm uploading them right now.

Do you have 4 from me? I'm not sure I actually sent them via email (think I sent you a link to Soundcloud) ... So should I get these over to you via mail?

Hi Rab, not really..... I haven't ever really recorded myself. The only thing online I think, is a previous covers comp entry here on the media archive. I promise you, I can hold a tune though..... There are a few members on the site who have heard me in real life and can attest.

I know what you mean Staci.. Under the heading of "Wives Say the Funniest Things".. driving along with mine tonite and "We Stand Alone" was on CD. Is one of my entries in the covers comp. My wife tells me "Hey, this guy on the CD sounds like you".... and that's why I married her...

I love the covers comp, I love hearing Ultravox through the ears of other fans, i like hearing what it is they take from the music.

I'm trying to get a little thing ready in time, hopefully it works (considering family, work etc).

I really love the competitions, to hear all those ways you can change all our favourite songs!
