Hello all,

Hope you're enjoying the pre-release euphoria. I've done a cover of Brilliant for the covers comp! It's here if you want to hear it:

http://www.mp3unsigned.com/Bluestone/80721/#Brilliant+%28Ultravox+cover%29

Hope you enjoy it, and that it helps to pass at least a little of the time before the album's out.

TTFN,
Neil

Paul, seriously dude, you went back? WHY? The place is a corrupt cesspit!I come from there too... it terrifies me what Baillache and his pixies are doing/have done...

Congratulations! This is a very nice piece! From timemark 0:55 to about timemark 1:30 it sounds almost like Pink Floyd! I think this is the guitar and harmonies in the voices which bring this feeling.

Thanks very much! Almost like Pink Floyd is good enought for me!

I've got one more entry to finish off - I'm using snippets and samples from all sorts of Ultravox songs to create a completely different tune. Once I've sent it to Cerise, I'll post it here and you can play "spot the song"!

Yeah, that's a very good cover. Definitely one of the best in the competition.

Lovely version - it really brings out the melody.

I love your version of "Lament" - gorgeous. Sounds like the Kronos Quartet.

Been listening to more tracks on your page. Some really good stuff there. I particularly like "Closedown" - it reminds me of Talk Talk. I think it must be the organ.

Thanks very much for the comments - makes it all worthwhile when I know someone enjoyed it!

Quietman - don't forget to add a link to the "new mp3s" forum so others who use the site can hear your tracks - they're a friendly bunch and will give helpful suggestions if you ask them to (and do send me a link too!).

Thank you Ambidexter - hope you continue to find tracks you like there! Not sure whether my lounge version of Love's Great Adventure is on there or not (category winner 2009), but if it's not I'll load that up there too.

Good luck to all the entries - I always enjoy listening to how others approach the songs we know and love.

Oh no.... you do?
Me too..... shock2
Well then, it's too late to back off now.....

Edit: found your song, and it's a total different style, so no worries... smile

Excellent use of Paul's stretch (I guess?).
Good work!
