Could anyone point me in the direction of a softsynth that will sound like Chris's trademark synth bass. It sounds like a Moog, but 'heavier'. I was wondering which one was used during RTE and also on 'Brilliant'.

Cheers

Craig

I "think" he used the Gforce "Minimonsta" on RTE which is like the Gmedia Minimoog soft synth but a bit "beefier" I've got a Minimonsta and it's great for Basslines.

From the GForce Minimonsta Customer-Feedback page :

Chris Cross - "The Ultravox reunion tour was a technical dream and my department was very well covered by MiniMonsta and the fabulously chilling sound of the VSM Elka patches.

It was the closest you can get to time travel on a keyboard. With the added adventure of the digital kingdom. Many thanks to the digital wizards at Gforce Software."

Those bass sounds are pretty generic, I think you could do a reasonable rendition with any softsynth that has half-decent oscillators.

Got myself 'The Monsta'. Very good softsynth. Very beefy laugh

Thanks all.
