Most of the ambient music I listen to started on the (now defunct) Private Music label in the '80's. Arists such as Yanni, Patrick O'Hearn, Suzanne Ciani and Jerry Goodman. Also J-M Jarre, Delerium, Kitaro, Vangelis and Global Communications' 76:14 album.

I agree - although I'm a big fan of "The Middle of Nowhere" too. Here's my first impressions when I got the album

I saw them live the other week and they were fantastic.

This is what myself and the wifey were watching on Thursday 26th April 2012 at Manchester Apollo. Why this clip? cos we appear in it several times and it was a great gig.

I'll be seeing them tonight in Birmingham. First time since the disastrous Wolves gig in Dec 2006. I am so looking forward to it but have to brave the hurricane currently blowing across the Midlands to get there.

This afternoon I am listening to Love And Rockets (Sorted! - the best of), Talk Talk (Laughing Stock) and The Cult (Love). Low Life & Technique on the way to the gig though.

Latest moby Album destroyed, certainly captures that late night in hotels it is themed around, for those who travel a lot. No track as good as mistake on the last album though! Also new morten harket album, best of his solo albums IMHO

Peter Heppner's My Heart of Stone made the last couple weeks of wating for Brilliant much more tolerable for me.

Hi David,

I want to thank you for posting that song. I have now purchased the two eps off of iTunes.

I love discovering new music and this fits the bill.

They can get along nicely together. I rarely listen to whole albums (except when they're brand new). I like to load a CD full of MP3s of my favorite tracks and put it on random play in my car. It's like having my own radio station which never plays anything I don't like.

Most of my favorite music in recent years has been coming from Germany. I call Alphaville my "other favorite band" (besides Ultravox), and !distain is another that I like. Here are tracks from each of their latest albums...

I'm just shocked that I have found another band that I can listen to 24/7. Those bands are very rare in my case - in fact (up until now) UV have been the only band in that category. Pink Floyd - could almost be another.

I might listen to CDs of other groups/singers a couple of times in a row but the CD wouldn't be on repeat looping...so I am shocked to find another band/voice that could equal UV.

Does anyone else think that Wolfsheim's artwork for Dreaming Apes must have been heavily influenced by John Foxx's Cathedral Oceans? Or is it just me?

I think that is unlikely since Dreaming Apes was released the year before Cathedral Oceans. smile

The Muse Olympic song yuk ...first and last time I will choose to listen to it. Along the lines of Queen's Barcelona - which was great.

UV's Brilliant would have been much better - along with the video shared on this forum smile .

Isnt it funny when people say stuff like "ahh music was better back in the day, they dont make music like they used to?"
Well thats tottal rubbish as this is the best 80's band of today and they are selling MILLIONS!
Ultravox should get this guy to produce their next CD, great production and songs.
