Midge confirmed on the latest BLC that the RIE set was almost done.
I was hoping it might still come out this year but either way I'm just happy it's coming at some point.
I really hope they chose a live show which includes Passionate Reply in the setlist.

I hope they keep creating releases like this for all the Midge era Ultravox albums (and any Midge solo albums if possible).
I'd love to finally be able to get a deluxe edition of Brilliant.
A boxset for Monument and one for the singles collection could be a way to release some live video footage if possible?

Thank you so much for confirming, Cerise and Unique designs in crome.
I can hardly wait ... this is such fantastic and not matter which versions will be available, I will absolutely buy them all :-)
RIE is one of the most beautiful albums even. Christmas after its original release, my brother gifted the vinyl to me and I could not stop playing it. It got me into Ultravox, essentially buying Vienna (which I did not own back then) and everything else from that point onwards.

At least if Chrysalis has managed to match the number of discs that were in the Vienna set (as Cerise reported last September), then that gives us some idea of what to look forward to. Though it wasn't confirmed at the time. If you recall, the original advert was completely jumping the gun and everything was made up. At the same time as Cerise' comment, the tracklisting was not confirmed and, though we had enough tracks to match the number of Vienna discs - and this is the message passed to Ceriese - not all tracks (or any parts of the product package) had been approved so it was all really pie in the sky. I'm interested to know where that suppposed tracklisting above has come from though. Having 2 live sets would probably be overkill. And they'd choose a complete set, presumably, too - not parts of 2 different gigs. It's probably a leak from the distributor and has been misinterpreted along the way. I agree it would be more than daft to have bits of different concerts unless there was no other choice. As mentioned, wait for the official news & I'm sure you will be happy. Anyway! Looking forward to it. Me too - another long piece of work coming to fruition. I wonder when I will actually listen to it again: I still haven't listened to the Vienna album since the Deluxe set was released. Even with the best of albums there are only so many times hearing the same songs over & over in slightly different forms before you go bonkers. AWS

I wonder when I will actually listen to it again: I still haven't listened to the Vienna album since the Deluxe set was released. Even with the best of albums there are only so many times hearing the same songs over & over in slightly different forms before you go bonkers.
AWS This is a very good point. I do struggle to listen to music for pleasure these days anyway thanks to health issues but with the Vienna box set, it was the first new music I'd bought in ages. And...I've listened to the Steven Wilson mix of the album once, and enjoyed it - freshened up the album nicely - but still not sat and listened to the rest; not even the St Albans gig or the unreleased bits and pieces.

Will there be an Instrumental Version of the Album like the Vienna on released last year? If there is, I hope they don't pull that same gag of getting me to buy the big deluxe set and then have to buy a Record Store Day exclusive release for the instrumental disc along with a disc that I just got in the deluxe box. I'm not a fan of the whole RSD racket as it is.
