The linked webpage incorrectly states that the Vienna album has never previously before been performed in its entirety.Rob

Great news. Of course, Ultravox doing a tour of Vienna would have been awesome, but this is the second best option and I'll take it . Would be nice if he sneaks in a couple of B-sides, Waiting, Face to Face, Passionate Reply....

Got my tickets for Southend - I would love if Passionate Reply was dug out the vaults!

The one thing that bugs me a bit about this is who is going to recite Mr X. I mean it is Warren's piece. Cannot imagine how it will come across. Will Midge do it himself? That will be a first, right?

My guess would be an instrumental version or the India Electric Company vocalist from the band could do it, but I reckon an instrumental is the way it'll go Yeah, I guess we´ll see.

Good news!
Got my tickets for the Stockholm show - more than a year in advance.... Thanks for updating me on this, . Also got tics for Stockhlom, interesting that these shows are in May 2020. Several months after the 2019 autumn shows. Might see Gothenburg as well.

Surely all he has to do is ask Chrysalis for the multitrack track for either Mr or Herr X?

I would believe those four are most likely, but hopefully a couple more. Visa-Age please. Oh, and Rusty is joining . From Midge's Twitter: "Visage co-founder Rusty Egan joins me on the 1980 Tour starting October 2019 to perform selected tracks from the first Visage album together for the first time. He is also playing a Blitz DJ set on every show excluding Manchester, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin." https://mobile.twitter.com/midgeure1/status/1135288619705483264

I was at the Glasgow show on Sunday. It was a great gig. Here's the set list. It's from memory, but I think it's correct.
Yellow Pearl Visage In The Year 2525 Blocks On Blocks The Dancer Mind Of A Toy Glorious Fade To Grey Astradyne New Europeans Private Lives Passing Strangers Sleepwalk Mr X Western Promise Vienna All Stood Still
Passionate Reply Dancing With Tears In My Eyes
The Voice Hymn
Rusty was on stage playing a small set of drums on the first eight songs, then went off for the Ultravox songs. (Russell Field still played the main drum kit on all songs.)
Midge said they were taking the opportunity to do Glorious while they had Rusty on stage, so not sure if that means it'll only be performed on the dates he's appearing.
The vocals on Mr X were done through a vocoder (as were the intro and middle-8 of In The Year 2525).
Midge said Passionate Reply was in the set because people had kept requesting it online after the tour was announced.

I saw Midge on the 1980 tour at the Poole Lighthouse last Friday night (14th Feb). Me and my better half both thoroughly enjoyed the show, although she did say that there were a few of the Visage tracks and a couple of the album tracks from the Vienna album that she didn't know. I guess I need to educate her a bit more!

Went to see him in Brighton yesterday, my first concert since 2009, and he has still got it. Not quite Ultravox standard obviously, but credit to the backing band and the young musician who takes on the viola solos as that's big shoes to fill!!
Met a super fan from the States who made me feel like just a regular fan considering he seems to have been to practically every show!! Really nice guy and wouldn't surprise me if he was on here. Only let down were two women directly in front who spent the entire evening talking, guffawing and texting on their phone for the duration!!
Would love to see one more Ultravox The Collection Tour featuring all the band before I pop my clogs but highly unlikely that will ever happen!!

They have started to add their own little marks on the solos and performances in general. The biggest take away from the Band Electronica shows has been how much Midge seems to be enjoying himself. Midge's voice has held up remarkably well and his guitar playing gets better over the years. I am really hoping that in 2021 we get a Rage In Eden tour, maybe with some tracks from The Anvil as well? We could well see tours like this over the next few years imho. As for Ultravox, well never say never, but I think with Warren working in the USA, Billy seemingly saying he will never be in Ultravox again, it does seem unlikely. But with the Vienna box set coming later this year, I don't think we've heard the last of them.

I would be incredibly happy with a 1981 tour especially if Midge comes back to Southend again, Passionate reply live was everything I hoped it would be, but which B-side would be included out of "I never wanted to begin" or "Paths and angles"?
I'm hoping a 1980 tour CD set will materialise with a complete show from either the Midge official bootleg series or a wider general release.
Fingers crossed the new Vienna boxset is a good enough seller to encourage the other albums to get similar sets (assuming the boxset has a plethora of material worthy of a purchase - I'll be buying it regardless as I'm starving for more/new 'Vox content), unfortunately though I would assume any potential follow up albums would not sell quite as well, Vienna is usually seen as the big hitter.

The dates in Sweden in May just got postponed a full year, to May 2021. As expected, I guess. A Rage in Eden tour could still start later in the Autumn of 2021. Hope it happens. But first I want to see the Vienna tour.....

I'd be most interested in a Vienna tour with the full original line-up. Wonder how likely that is? Hasn't Chris Cross more or less gone off grid i.e. back into normal civvy life?

So the postponed Vienna tour dates that were supposed to happen this May in Sweden, were now of course officially postponed to October 2022. As expected. The gig in October 22 will be the Voice & Visions tour, which is ok by me. Wish I'd gotten to see the Vienna show though.....oh, well.
