The footage of Ultravox! live at the Rainbow in 1977 is to get an official release on Spotify. John Foxx's Facebook has a trailer and says this:

We're excited to announce a new Ultravox project, Live At The Rainbow 1977. Some 44 years after Ultravox played at the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park, Universal will be releasing the previously unseen concert footage in weekly video drops. Join us on February 15th at 8pm (GMT) to watch the the first video, the performance of previously unreleased track 'I Came Back Here To Meet You'. The whole set list will be released as a digital EP on March 19th, and includes unreleased tracks “T.V. Orphans”, and “I Won’t Play Your Game”. Pre-save Live at the Rainbow 1977 now 👉 https://Ultravox.lnk.to/LATR

The quality on the trailer looks really good.

Nice. Too bad no physical release. A vinyl edition would have been very welcome.

Agree - a physical release or even a download.....almost anywhere except Spotify would be welcome and probably more profitable for the artists.

Do we know who is actually releasing it?

Edit:
Ah! The URL gives it away: it's Universal.

So my understanding is that 3 of the tracks from this gig were released at the time. Slip away was the B-side of Young Savage, The Wild, the Beautiful etc was on the Retro Live EP, and Modern Love supposedly on an expanded 12 inch version of Retro Live in Australia. Interestingly, Discogs does not list such a version of the Retro EP. I presume it exists though? Was Modern Love released anywhere else at the time? Thanks for any info you may have.
I know all these tracks are on the 2006 CD of course.

Modern Love was one of two tracks - along with Quirks - on the free single that came with initial copies of the Ha! Ha! Ha! album. Both tracks were coupled with the four from the Retro EP - and released in Australia (on vinyl and on cassette) in 1981 as an expanded edition...

Thanks Rob. Guess I missed that Discogs listing by looking only at the Singles & EP section, while it was listed as a compilation. smile
