A promo set of the 5 Vienna CDs is currently on ebay here.

Anyone who knows if the sales of these sets are at a satisfying level? If it is, it should be a better chance to get the other albums with the same treatment, at least up to Lament.

Wonderful! I suspected that, because I had a rather hard time to get my CD-box.

Midge answered my question about future releases of the other albums and his solo albums on the last Lockdown broadcast, and he said that the record company holds all the rights and he seemed to believe that the others will all be forthvcoming.

Chrysalis do own the rights to their era stuff but everything is done in consultation with all four band members.

Yeah I should have said that Midge mentioned they are in consultation with them about all releases.

I was a bit young when Vienna was released and I'd never heard of Animals before. I really like it, but wondered if anyone had a better sound system than me and can work out the lyrics?

It seems strange why the band did not add their BBC Radio 1 gig 14.01.81 to that impressive compilation. The CD was only released in 1992 and became an absolute rarity by now, it is a great quality live record.
That recording is generally forgotten, not a single band member ever commented on it.
Any guess why?

Simple: Chrysalis don't own the rights to it / already had the St Albans gig which is new to fans / didn't want more than one live recording in the set.

I noticed Midge said on a BLC broadcast they had another great recording from The Lyceum, wonder if that'll ever get released?

Oooo I hope so. An edited version of King's Lead Hat. I love that performance. Chrysalis is keen on Ultravox stuff so fingers crossed.

It is very similar to St Albans & IMO not as good a performance or recording (from memory at least one track may be incomplete). AFAIK there are no plans to do any work on it since the St Albans gig was chosen for the Vienna box.

Whilst it would be great for everything to be released, things have to be prioritised and sometimes things fall by the wayside.

I was looking through the ultravox shop via the links on the front page. I’m really hoping that Lament gets the white vinyl treatment (with the accompanying 7”!) if anyone has any insight on that potential?

Anyway, back to the point, on the Lament album sales write up it describes it as being on 180gm heavyweight CLEAR vinyl. The picture is of black vinyl and I’m not aware of a clear vinyl album version...is this a typo?

Yeah it's a typo: I don't think the original listing was incorrect so it may have been amended more recently, maybe when the Vienna products were put live.

And there are no plans for the Vinyl 180 series to be continued: Chrysalis paid a lot to get their catalogue back and there's no reason - or value - for them to licence it out to anyone else.

Cheers, thank you. I can still get a ‘new’ copy of the Lament reissue from eBay...and I have the picture disc (which is half clear vinyl I guess!), but it’s not been well looked after in all honesty.
