Actual UV information has been thin on the ground whilst we've all been away it seems. OK, pretty much non-existent may be closer to the truth.

There is one interesting bit of information in that the majority of the Chrysalis portfolio, including the MU era Ultravox has been sold to a consortium including the original Head of Chrysalis, Chris Wright and they seem to be very positive about releasing interesting packages rather than the run-of-the-mill compilations we have seen.

Detailed info here.

This does, of course, explain why the Vinyl180 re-releases have faltered since the change of ownership would have resulted in the consent to release the albums being withdrawn - that would probably have had to have happened for the deal to go through.

This gets me thinking though. Would we want the Vinyl180 series to be completed? I still want the chance to get a clear vinyl copy so count me in for that but what other things would be good? the 'Special Extended Versions' all collected together, Live recordings, etc?

Since we are all back together it sounds like a good conversation to start! What do you all think??

Simon

Personally I have no interest in Vinyl but I am glad that Ultravox content is still being released one way or another

I've been listening to the remastered CDs recently (and the Midge official bootlegs) and had a look on amazon to find that The Gift and Answers to nothing are not on there anymore (only ridiculous seller prices shock )

I take it this is to do with the sale of content you mentioned? Either way it makes me glad I bought these all when I did cool

The only thing that would interest me personally, would be an expanded reissue of BRiLL!ANT, to include the early 'work-in-progress' recordings, as heard on the various Brilliant Beginnings video clips (such as Remembering and Hello).

I'm not usually interested in live material or vinyl (re)releases and I suspect that the previously released 'Remastered Definitive Edition' CDs included everything else that could be included (at that time), unless, of course, there are other demo's, edits or mixes stored within the Chrysalis vaults somewhere, but I imagine that Cerise and Rob would've investigated that back then.

Thanks very much for the information though.

Cheers ...

I'd really like to have seen the 180 series completed. I was fortunate enough to get 2 of the releases on clear. I'd like to see Lament with a disc of 12" mixes rather than the 7" bonus they'd done before. The Collection in its double version with improved packaging would sleo be great.

Box sets with more Live material would be outstanding, Full live shows would certainly get my vote

Can't be a lot left now, surely? We had the 2 CD reissues with extras on. All the b-sides have been issued, plus the odd live track. Its often been said they never had much in the way of unreleased stuff to release.

If they reissue the albums again, I hope they remaster them again - I find the remasters very tiring to listen to, being so constantly "loud".
