I was introduced to The Ventures back in the 80s by a guy I knew from hospital radio. Got some of their stuff on vinyl & CD. 'Walk Don't Run' is one of their best known & the theme from 'Hawaii Five-0'. smile [/b]
In another similar vein , there is an album of mainly instrumentals from another 60s group called "The Eagles" ( no - not them smile ) which i used to quite like.

The Seekers- The Best Of. Didn't know they had recorded a song with the title 'Whisky In The Jar' before Thin Lizzy & Metallica.

So....Messrs Lynott & Hetfield are closet Judith Durham fans eh!!

Brilliant album - can't stop listening to it at the moment, but I'm sure there will be another great album coming along sometime soon, that will take over the "most listened to" spot on my iPod laugh

Same here - it's Duran Duran back to their best. I really hope the new Ultravox album is along these lines; new music built on their classic album roots.

Pure - my favourite Midge solo album.

'Rising' is by far the best track for me on this album & with the brass intro wouldn't look out of place on the 'U-Vox' album.

I think I have Aqualung on CD somewhere. I know I have one Tull album. I guess it is fair to say he is very talented. 'Witches Promise' is one of my fave tracks & 'Ring Out Solstice Bells' is one of my favourite 'Christmas' tracks these days. Makes a change from all that Slade, Wizzard, Wham, Shaky & yep even Band Aid that you hear year in year out. I do like those ones I've just listed but it's nice to hear something different!!

Well, Midge recorded "Living in the past", so don´t worry. Jethro tull is one of my favourite groups. Some might say bombastic concept albums. Yes, maybe two (Thick as a brick" and "A passion play"). They also did some folk albums, hard rock albums, blues rock albums and even...yes...synth pop albums, especially "Under wraps" from 1984. Newly re-released is "Walk into light", a solo album from Ian released in 1983. Should fit good with people who likes Ultravox or Depeche mode.

Yes! Ian Anderson is a genius!!!
