Having listened to Billy's interview, I'm concerned!
He states that he's not particularly nostalgic for older gear and that worries me that Ultravox won't be able to re-create the sound that I, personally, would like to hear.
When he swapped the Oddy for the Oscar, that searing, aggressive lead sound went down the pan (listen to some of the later live tracks), the Oscar just sounds like a buzzy mess.
Whereas, on the other hand, you get a chap like Dave Formula who has gone to the ends of the earth to faithfully re-create the sounds he used in Magazine, 30 years ago (even if he did have to borrow Chappie's SS-30)
I have no idea what to expect, I guess none of us do until the first gig...
