Extreme Voice fanzines on PDF
 When our Extreme Voice 'EV' fanzines first started out in 1984 with the first issue being printed in early 1986, it was a small, photocopied affair for the price of three stamps. Over the years it became the Official Ultravox Fanzine with exclusive interviews and photos of the band, and in 1996 it spawned this website.
We hope you enjoy EV; those who already know the fanzine will tell you what a huge amount of content is there. The early issues are a little embarrassing in places (but hey, we were teenagers!) and I apologise for anything that's excruciatingly unfunny, that's probably my fault. Anything about men (mooses) has got to be Annie. And anything a bit too close to the bone is probably Karen's. 
Eventually Annie and Karen found lives (who woulda guessed?!  ), though strangely I didn't, and Rob joined me in 1991 for issue 10 onwards. EV got a lot more professional from then on (partly Rob's impressive memory and attention to detail, partly me qualifying as a graphic designer) and I'm really proud of what we did. We stopped writing the fanzine at issue 20, as it seemed a good time to get (some of) our lives back and switch to this newfangled web thingy. There are some lovely messages from the band in the final issue, and Danny and Colin of The Messengers wrote a track especially for us called 'Farewell to EV', which we absolutely adore. You can listen to it in the Media Archive.
A book release of the EV fanzines was mooted by Cherry Red Records last year thanks to Simon Joslin, which was very very flattering, but we decided that we would prefer to make this content available to you for free. 'Cos we're nice like that!
The PDFs are presented in 'to read' spreads (2/3, 4/5, 6/7), but for those of you who still like to have printed copies in your mitts, we will still be selling the remaining copies in the shop, and the price has now been cut right down to £2.00 an issue. This is probably for a limited time after which they will no longer be available, since I really need some loft space back!
