The Green Room
General chat and socialising - an area to discuss anything off-topic; world events, current music, sports etc - anything that's NOT Ultravox-related, that takes your fancy!
Voxgates Anyone for a Voxgate on the upcoming reunion tour?! Arrange and discuss Voxgate meetings here! Voxgates are meetings of Ultravox fans from around the globe, organised by anyone who fancies the job. Most participants "met" in the EV and/or midgeure.com chat rooms, and thought it would be fun to yak face-to-face. If you would like to arrange or attend a Voxgate, here's the place to chat about it! Please create a new thread for each separate Voxgate, if one doesn't exist already. Thanks!
Covers Competition!
Welcome to the ongoing Ultravox covers competition! There are five categories: Best Cover (sounds most like the Ultravox [or related] version), Best Re-Cover (your own interpretation of an original Ultravox [or related] arrangement), Didn't See THAT One Coming (Best cover in a completely unexpected style), Best Re-Mix (covers with a completely new arrangement and/or sound), and Best Original (an original piece which most sounds like something Ultravox could've/should've written and recorded - but didn't). Different end dates will be set, so just jump in when you can. The current competition's end date is midnight GMT April 1st 2011. Have fun!
Midge Ure
This is the place to discuss anything to do with Midge; his solo career, film music, his stint with Thin Lizzy, Prince's Trust, Band Aid, etc.
Warren Cann
This is the place to discuss anything to do with Warren; the long-awaited Helden album, his film acting appearances, his stints with bands such as Mecano and the Huw Lloyd Langton Group, his work on the Antz film, etc.
Chris Cross
This is the place to discuss anything to do with Chris; his pre-Ultravox band Stoned Rose, his stint with Raise the Dragon, his return to his psycotherapy/counselling career, etc.
Billy Currie
This is the place to discuss anything to do with Billy; his solo career, his continuation of Ultravox, his Unearthed compositions, Fragile Skin film music, his stint with Raise the Dragon, his post-Ultravox band Humania, etc.
Robin Simon
This is the place to discuss anything to do with Robin; his time with Ultravox, his pre-Ultravox band Neo, his work with John Foxx, his time in Billy's band Humania, his upcoming solo album, etc.
Stevie Shears
This is the place to discuss anything to do with Stevie; his time with Ultravox, his post-Ultravox band Faith Global, any recent sightings, etc.
Messengers
The Messengers, aka Danny Mitchell and Colin King, initially came to Ultravox fans' notice as their tour support band in 1982 and 1984, and Danny has co-written songs with Midge for many years now. Their music and humour endeared them to us all and 2004 sees their album debut, 'It's Been 20 Years, Let's Turn Up the Volume'. Danny has faithfully promised visits to answer your questions, so let the discussions begin!
Monument : the Official Tribute Band!
Now endorsed by Chris, Billy, Warren and Midge, Ultravox tribute MONUMENT comprises Forum members Mike L (vox, guitar, synth), Davy B (bass, synths, vox), Sleepwalker (lead kbds, synths, vox) and Tommy (drums, vox). Monument are gig-ready and are hoping to play at a venue near you soon...
